What makes a driveway last

Built for cars, trucks and Florida rain.

  • A deeper base than a patio. Driveways carry cars, delivery trucks and the occasional moving van, so the base is thicker and compacted in layers.
  • Vehicle-rated pavers. Thicker units in an interlocking pattern. Herringbone is the strongest for traffic.
  • Solid edge restraint so the edges don't spread under tires.
  • Drainage to the street or yard, not toward the garage.

Driveway questions

Good to know.

Do I need a permit or HOA approval?

Work in the city or county right-of-way (the apron between the sidewalk and street) may need a permit, and many HOAs approve color and pattern. Permits and HOA approvals are the homeowner's responsibility, so check with your city or county and your HOA before work starts. We're happy to share the paver color and pattern details your application asks for.

Will oil stains come out?

Pavers clean up better than concrete, and a sealer makes stains easier to remove. Any badly stained paver can also be swapped out.
